Brody Holtslander Death, Obituary – The St. Cloud, Minnesota, community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Brody Holtslander, who tragically died in a motorcycle accident in Rice on Monday, July 27, 2026, at the age of 17. His passing has left family, friends, classmates, coworkers, teammates, and loved ones grieving the loss of a remarkable young man whose kindness, generosity, and vibrant personality touched countless lives.
Born on January 4, 2009, in St. Cloud to Mike Holtslander and Laura Oltz, Brody grew up surrounded by the love of his family and developed a reputation as someone with an exceptionally caring heart. He attended Sauk Rapids-Rice Schools and most recently Apollo High School, where he formed lasting friendships and earned the respect of classmates and teachers alike.
Those who knew Brody often spoke of his selfless nature and his ability to brighten any room. He was the kind of person who would always lend a helping hand, put others before himself, and make sure those around him had a reason to smile. His contagious laugh, quick wit, and love of telling jokes made him someone people naturally gravitated toward, and his unforgettable personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Brody had a passion for working with his hands, particularly when it came to cars and mechanical projects. He enjoyed learning new skills and took pride in everything he did. He was also a dedicated employee at Mongo’s Grill in St. Cloud, where he worked as a cook and earned the admiration of coworkers through his strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.
Outside of work, Brody embraced life with enthusiasm. He enjoyed spending time with friends, playing video games, listening to loud music, and seeking out new adventures. During his school years, he participated in track and field and football, demonstrating the same determination and team spirit that defined every aspect of his life.
Above all, Brody cherished his family and friends. The relationships he built throughout his life were rooted in loyalty, compassion, and genuine love for others. Though his time was far too short, the memories he created and the joy he shared will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Brody is survived by his parents, Laura Ritsche (Josh Welliver) of St. Cloud and Mike (Heidi) Holtslander of Becker; his siblings, Jackson Welliver, Janessa Welliver, Jayda Welliver, Lyla Ritsche, Robert Ritsche, Madison Holtslander, and Hudson Holtslander; his grandparents, Edward Oltz, Martha and Murphy Haessly, Ray and Julie Hendrickson, Gerald “Shorty” Girtz, and Deb Samuelson; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Susan Holtslander; his uncle, Jason Dickmann; his great-grandparents, Dan and Cathy Mundt; and his great-grandfather, Irvin Girtz.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud, with Pastor Kevin Drehmel officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Sauk Rapids. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
As family and friends gather to celebrate Brody’s life, they continue to find comfort in the countless memories he created and the love he so freely shared. Although his life ended far too soon, his legacy of kindness, laughter, compassion, and generosity will continue to inspire everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
